Comments/Tagging

Just a real quick post for this morning: sorry about the word verification on the comments but I'm tired of getting stupid spam comments. No, I'm not interested in the "boy toy" site, thankyouverymuch. Also I realize I haven't done the "7 things" yet; I know I've been tagged, and I'll get to it soon, honest. :) Have a great day; I'll try to post a "real" blog entry soon.

Kitten and Stitching Update

I haven't written a post in awhile; I haven't had a lot of down time lately. Take yesterday, for example. After work we picked Luke up from preschool and went to the mall to look at couches. We didn't get home until 9pm. We did, however, buy a couch at JC Penny's. It is a dual recliner slate blue microsuede and I cannot WAIT for it to be ready. 8-10 weeks since it's a special order. The couch that I have tolerated for the last 5+ years is a hideous red thing that Jay has had for about 13 years. I endured it for a couple reasons. First of all, I have a nice glider rocker and I do not use the couch. Secondly, there were other ways I'd rather spend the money (digital camera, new tv, vacation, etc). And finally, Jay had an abnormal attachment to the hideous thing. A week or so ago he finally conceded that it's reached the end of its useful life and he is ready to move on. I am excited because we'll be rearranging our living room. Hopefully it will arrive before Christmas so that we will have room for a tree this year (the wall unit that we bought in the spring takes up a lot of space so I'd been wondering where the heck I'd put a tree this year).

So as I said, I've been busy. Today is kickboxing from 5:30-6:30 and then I have to back something for the open house at preschool tomorrow evening. I'm leaning towards M&M brownies. I guess I'll go to the grocery store at lunch today. I am *tired* and just want an evening where we do nothing!

It's been four months now and the kittens are almost full grown. Gosh it goes by so fast!! It's interesting how they've developed their own personalities. Oscar is a little wierd but at least he has stopped his middle of the night nose licking (I was very tired for a few weeks there...). Felix is sooooo sweet; he often curls up in my lap in the evenings while I stitch. And then there's Abby. She is always getting in to something; she is definitely the troublemaker. I suppose it's natural then that she gravitates towards Luke. I don't know how she manages to tolerate him. He's put her in the bathtub (in his defense he "thought she wanted in" since she was standing on the ledge staring intently at the water), tried to lay on her "like a pillow" and just generally wants to "play" with her. He isn't intentionally mean to her; he just really loves her and, as a four year old boy, is still learning how to "love" her without being too rough. But like I said, she's trouble. Her latest endeavor has been to rip holes in the cat food bag. So far she's gone through two of them and has learned how to jump onto the stove (that's how she got the second one). The food spent one night in the oven and is currently residing under the sink. We have been several places looking for a reasonably priced/sized storage container. What we really need is one of those popcorn tins but I don't know where to find one. It's such a pain.

We are really enjoying the kitties though; they are so much fun even if they do cause some trouble. I'm a little worried about the new couch but we'll make do somehow. I'll try to add some new pictures soon.

Let's see, since I originally started this blog because of my stitching friends I suppose it is appropriate to occasionally talk about stitching. I finished Mirabilia's Crescent Dreams recently for a friend that had a baby. I haven't posted a pic yet so here it is. It's a little big and will screw up my blog formatting so I'll just post the link . After finishing that one I decided to try and catch up on Chatelaine's Mystery 8. I have now finished part 7. Part 10 was just released so I'm hoping I can catch up. Here is another link .

We also went to Legoland on Saturday but maybe I'll talk about that another time. Jay came with us, for a change. Luke wanted to ride with him on everything; it was really cute. I wish he would ride on the three bigger rides/roller coasters but oh well. He's tall enough for all of the rides but he's a little scared still. Eventually, I hope.

Well, hope everyone has a nice day and hopefully I won't end up with more spam comments. How wierd.
